1In many countries schools have severe problems with student’s behaviour
What are the causes?
What solutions can you suggest
Poor student behaviour seems to be an increasingly widespread problem and I think that modern lifestyles are probably responsible for this
In many countries the birth rate is decreasing so that families are smaller with fewer children These children are often spoilt not in terms of love and attention because working parents do not have the time for this but in more material ways They are allowed to have whatever they want regardless of price and to behave as they please This means that the children grow up without consideration for others and without any understanding of where their standard of living comes from
When they get to school age they have not learnt any self control or discipline They have less respect for their teachers and refuse to obey school rules in the way that their parents did
Teachers continually complain about this problem and measures should be taken to combat the situation But I think the solution to the problem lies with the families who need to be more aware of the future consequences of spoiling their children If they could raise them to be considerate of others and to be social responsible individuals the whole community would benefit
Perhaps parenting classes are needed to help them to do this and high quality nursery schools could be established that would support families more in terms of raising the next generation The government should fund this kind of parental support because this is no longer a problem for individual families but for society as a whole

There has been much disagreement over children's education in recent years One of the questions under debate is whether children benefit more from boarding schools or from going to day schools and staying with their parents after school This issue is becoming a matter of concern for more and more people especially for parents with only one child
Those who are against children going to boarding schools argue that such schools are usually much more costly than ordinary day schools As a result it tends to be children from rich families who attend them may gradually develop a sense of superiority towards those from other families while the latter may feel resentful We also have to take into account the fact that many families cannot afford to send their children to boarding schools Again children attending boarding schools have less time to communicate with their parents which may eventually create a gap between them and weaken family ties
On the other hand people who are in favor of children going to boarding schools point out that a boarding school is an ideal place for cultivating children's independence which they seldom learn from their parents at home Children who have the experience of going to boarding schools tend to come up with their own solutions to problems they encounter instead of turning to their parents or other people for help What is more these children usually show a more cooperative attitude towards others in case of team work than the little emperors in many one child families Finally they are generally more used to competing with others and will find it easier to adapt to modern society which is full of competition when they grow up
Weighing the pros and cons of these arguments I am inclined to agree with the latter point of view For one thing it seems to me that there is more to education than merely learning from teachers and textbooks The experience of living with other children and taking care of themselves can give children valuable lessons about how to behave properly how to overcome difficulties and most important of all how to think rationally I believe that children sometimes learn more from other children than from adults For another many parents are too busy with their work to pay enough attention to their children's growth even if their children go to day schools not to mention the fact that there are still some parents who are not qualified to instruct children and impose more negative influences than positive ones

In many countries these days there is a growing tendency for children to take paid work even though they are still receiving education in primary schools Many people believe that children accumulate useful experience through this kind of work But others criticize this on the ground that such work interferes with their studies
The first point of view has a lot to recommend it It is true that children especially for those of school age need to participate in some social activities Work will help them to enlarge their scope of knowledge and accumulate a certain amount of social experience which is a necessary supplementaddition to the knowledge they gain from school courses
Also taking part in work of a certain type can help to reinforce children's sense of responsibility Children will have to be able to handle various unexpected situations in later life It is beneficial for them to understand their duties in society while they are still at school
As for the money earned from paid work I am firmly convinced that it is not only useful but also necessary for children to earn extra money They can decide whether to spend it or save it thus learning the value of thrift (frugalness) But the most important point is that they earn this money through hard work and this will help them understand the famous saying no pains no gains better
To sum up I agree that school children should participate in a certain amount of paid work Through such work they can not only earn some extra money but also acquire the necessary knowledge and experience which will be especially useful when they enter society as grownups

It seems to me that there is a clearcut answer to this question Although in the early years of a child's life parents are the principal educators that role is soon assumed very largely by the child's teachers Even elder brothers and sisters who may give good advice can never take the place of teachers in molding a child's mind
First and foremost teachers know best in terms of education They are professional educators and as such they are better equipped with expertise in teaching It is in schools too that children make friends and learn how to act in a socially responsible manner Teachers know best how to organize motivate and discipline their students Furthermore as children spend most of their time in schools teachers have more influence on them than their parents do
Parents on the other hand are mostly either too busy to spend time with their children or are ignorant of the right way to educate them This is not to say that parents can shirk (refuse to take) their responsibility for educating their children Parenting is an important factor that shapes competency and character formation in children Failure to take such responsibility constitutes delinquency as parents
Nevertheless given the professional qualifications of teachers and the time they spend with their students it is clear that the overwhelming burden of educating children falls upon the shoulders of teachers
5Computers are widely used in education and some people think teacher will not play an important role in the classroom
To what extent do you agree or disagree
With the present wide use of computers in the course of teaching more and more teachers are in favour of using computers as an aid in teaching their students or in appropriating the latest information from the Internet However I am not a believer in the argument that computers may in the future take the place of teachers in teaching students
Firstly the creators of any education program and software need to be teachers or workers in the education system or programmers who have previously worked in education Therefore although students may learn knowledge by computer the skills and ideas ultimately emanate fromderive from the teaching staff
Secondly while the computer may offer a correct answer or explanation to students the comprehension capability of every student varies from student to student making it is impossible for the computer to offer an explanation catered to a student’s particular level of understanding However the teacher is able to undertake this task as he or she possesses expertise in teaching For example when a teacher discovers that many students cannot understand professional knowledge he or she may offer explanatory examples The computer however may only analyze a question in terms of a simple right or wrong response
Finally the teachers are invariably responsible for carrying a dual role Most teachers act as not only an educator but also a kind of father or motherfigure in taking care of students in school The teacher is able to assist parents in solving a child’s mental problems other than imparting daily knowledge The computer which is purely an electronic device cannot hope to assist in this regard
In summary the computer may not play a major role in education in comparison to the benefits of a teacher bestows However it is critical that teachers improve their old teaching modes by using computers at some level of educational teaching

Many people believe that women make better parents than men and that this is why they have the greater role in raising children in most societies Others claim that men are just as good as women at parenting
Write an essay expressing your point of view
Give reasons for your answer
The view that women are better parents than men has shown itself to be true throughout history This is not to say that men are of little or no importance in childrearing indeed they are most necessary if children are to appreciate fully the roles of both sexes But women have proven themselves superior parents as a result of their conditioning their less aggressive natures and their generally better communication skills
From the time they are little girls females learn about nurturing First with dolls and later perhaps with younger brothers and sisters girls are given the role of career Girls see their mothers in the same roles and so it is natural that they identify this as a female activity Boys in contrast learn competitive roles far removed from what it means to nurture While boys may dream of adventures girls' conditioning means they tend to see the future in terms of raising families
Girls also appear to be less aggressive than boys[成年] it is men not womenwho prove to be the aggressors in crime and in war Obviously in raising children a more patient gentle manner is preferable to a more aggressive one Although there certainly exists gentle men and aggressive women by and large females are less likely to resort to violence in attempting to solve problems
Finally women tend to be better communicators than men This is shown in intelligence tests where females on average do better in verbal communication than males Of course communication is of utmost importance in rearing children as children tend to learn from and adopt the communication styles of their parents
